u need to give more info, did u install xp from cd or where i got too many articles on the subject to give u all from ur info. u can usually get sound drivers from the website of ur comp manufacturer. also if possible provide which sound card u using. and comp make model

when u installed xp from cd it should have picked it up itself. So i have no idea watt could have gotten wrong. when u go to control panel and check sound deviced do u see an error?

I have change my window

right click on the "my computer" icon on ur desktop and select "properties". In the new window that opens up, click on "hardware" tab and then click on "device manager". In the list shown, see what is shown next to "Sound, Video and game controllers". Does it have yellow icon on it?

Also, no offenses, but can you please also tell how familiar you are with all this stuff? Basically just want to know your level of knowledge or amateurity about computers so I can help accordingly. For someone completely amateur, the steps above are good but for someone who knows about it, I could have skipped a lot of the basic steps.
